We are looking for a Lead Practitioner to join us at our Little Flyers Ingliston setting which is right next to Edinburgh airport Here, we are fortunate to have use of the Highland show grounds and land around us

**About us -** Little Flyers Childcare as do many other nurseries follow the principles outlined in both the Froebel and Montessori learning, adopting child-centred pedagogy and we are inspired by HYGGE and the Curiosity Approach. Promoting outdoor learning, along with allowing the child their choice if they want to have a cosy time inside.

We have been established for over 20 years, family owned with 7 settings across Edinburgh and West Lothian and employing over 50 staff, caring, and supporting learning through play for children ages 0 -12 years. We have strong family values, for our staff, children, and families, and strive to have an inclusive home from home environment using natural resources, soft lighting, and furniture that children have at home.

- Communication is vital, and we use the Famly management system, enabling upto date and timely information to families and staff.
- We listen to everyone's voice, the children, and the staff, and we like to limit the use of titles within the company, as we encourage all of our team to take the lead and to strive for the best outcomes for our little people along with themselves and progression within their own career.
- We are currently recruiting for a 'group office administrator' this is to eliviate our senior team in their office duties that can take up so much time, thus allowing them to support their team of staff and concentrate on the improvements that we all aspire to.
- We continue to build our team of flexible bank staff. They are a crucial part to our business, supporting the core team with continuity to cover training, observations, and planning, along with holidays and absence.

- Work - Full Time (support balanced work/home life and part time may be considered)
- Hours - 37.5 hours / Monday to Friday 07.30am - 6pm

**Expectations -**
- Be self-motivated and have strong 'can do approach' ensuring delivery of high-quality care
- Hold an HNC/SVQ 3 in Childcare & Education or equivalent and willing to undertake further training.
- Strong knowledge of GIRFEC, Realising the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence, My World Outdoors amongst other local and national guidance
- A knowledge of Outdoor Education /Forest School would be advantageous
- however a passion for working in the outdoors and a willingness to learn is essential.
- Supporting and developing an enabling environment that is child led using indoors, outdoors, and beyond.
- Self-motivate and strong outward thinking person to lead and support their team
- Effective communicator with excellent customer service
- Be a positive role model to other staff members ensuring delivery of high-quality practice with a passion to meeting the individual needs of all children including those who require additional support for learning
- Keep up to date with latest practice
- Be able to display high quality practice and monitor the delivery of rich learning opportunities and exceptional care that helps all children to develop and meets their individual needs.
- Reliable, honest, and good sense of humour along with a love for charity shops.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
