Starting at 8:30am and finishing at 3:30pm, this roles is for a full time (term time only) Teaching Assistant role in:
**A Key Stage 2 (7+ years old) SEN Class to start in September 2022.**

The role is a long term role, treated permanent in an ongoing contract.

About the role:
KS2 classes, Most children are verbal communicators, some key characters in each class will have complex social, emotional and mental health difficulties which means that they may display challenging behaviour.

Learning will look like group inputs where adults will need to support children to listen and attend as well as listening to information taught to be able to effectively support pupils when they then engage in follow up learning.

Adults will need to be able to support pupils to be independent in their learning through using questioning.

Children will be working towards learning objectives and adults will need to be clear they understand the learning being taught and be able to feedback the learning to the teacher.

A calm and friendly manner, be able to respond to non-verbal communication and be patient, be able to be calm in an emergency situation and follow a plan accordingly.

Be able to work with others and follow guidance as much personal care and support is undertaken 2:1 when needed.

Have good initiative and be willing to be able to use a range of engagement and interaction to communicate with children.

**Ideal experience**:
Previous experience of supporting SEN in KS2 settings

Previous experience of working to support individuals with challenging behaviour (At a PRU for example)

Previous experience of working at SEN respite schemes and holiday club

Previous school experience.
