About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) in a good-rated school in Worthing. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children with SEN and a commitment to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting students with reading, writing, and numeracy skills
  • Creating a positive learning atmosphere and managing challenging behavior
  • Collaborating with the class teacher to develop and deliver activities
  • Recording students' progress and providing feedback to the teacher
  • Tutoring students on a 1:1 or small group basis
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with SEN students or a willingness to develop skills and knowledge
  • Good understanding of SEN and a passion for developing skills and knowledge
  • Able to manage challenging behavior and create a positive learning environment
  • Commitment to working fixed days, full or part-time
  • Clear and valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
