Warehouse Assistant

Our client, a family run builders’ merchant in Otley, is looking to appoint a **Warehouse Assistan**t to join their rapidly growing business.

We are looking for someone who is a **true team player** You will be able to ‘hit the ground running’ and be a positive influence on the rest of the team. This small business is undergoing a period of rapid expansion, so there are **plenty of progression and development opportunities.**

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Dealing with Goods In/Goods Out
- Picking orders ready to be shipped
- Loading of delivery van
- Assisting customers with enquiries both over the phone and face-to-face
- Inputting delivery information onto courier website
- Liaising with suppliers for delivery updates
- Proactively chase supplier orders and quotes
- Helping to arrange delivery schedules
- Housekeeping & cleaning duties, ensuring warehouse areas are neat, tidy and everything in the correct place
- Maintaining a safe working environment

**Required Knowledge & Skills**:

- Excellent customer service skills - polite, friendly, helpful
- Proficient using IT systems and the ability to learn new ones quickly
- A personable and professional telephone manner
- Knowledge of H&S and experience of working safely
- A driving licence is essential
- Previous experience within a warehouse/retail/stock control environment
- Knowledge of the construction industry or previous experience within a builders’ merchant is desirable
- This is a manual role so you must be physically fit and capable of being on your feet all day

**Hours**: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm

**Salary**: £23k-£26k DOE

**Holidays**: 25 days, plus bank hols (3 days used for Xmas shutdown)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £23,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
