The post holder is expected work towards expertise in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients who presented with complex gastrointestinal problem, nutritional deficiency, and colorectal surgery.
- The post holder will be expected to participate on the pre-assessment of patients prior to surgery and follow up clinics post-op to avoid hospital admissions.
- The post holder is responsible for ensuring all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures, utilising clinical audit, research, supervision of practice and teaching, monitor and improve standards of care by efficient and effective use of resources.
- The post holder will act as a resource and have specialist interest in teaching and development of the nursing staff and self.

an exciting opportunity has risen for an experienced registered nurse to join our dynamic team of surgical nurse practitioners within St Marks Hospital. St Mark’s is recognised as a national and international centre of clinical excellence for diagnosis and treatment of intestinal and colorectal disorders. We are proud of the range of clinical services we offer; which cover all aspects of colorectal disease and intestinal failure. We will work with you to enable you to gain the most from your clinical skills as an autonomous practitioner. The post holder will be expected to:

- Supporting the senior team in providing a unified approach to high standards of patient care.
- To create an environment that promotes excellence in nursing practice and empower staff to develop to high levels of clinical skills and autonomy.
- Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
- The post holder will be expected to participate on the pre-assessment of patients prior to surgery and follow up clinics post-op to avoid hospital admissions.
