**JOB OUTLINE**:
Under the direction of the Service Manager to co-ordinate and effectively deliver information, advice and casework support services to disabled people, families, carers, organisations and professionals.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- To supervise the work of the Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Service.
- To oversee the recruitment, induction, and supervision of project specific volunteers.
- Working closely with the Service Manager Employment and Skills to co-ordinate the effective delivery of DRC’s information, advice, and casework support services
- Alongside the IAG Service team, to provide high quality, accurate and impartial information, advice and casework support to disabled people, families, carers, organisations and individuals in line with MATRIX and other organisational standards.
- Where necessary, to work with clients to undertake a holistic assessment of their often-complex needs and encourage and enable their active involvement in the planning and delivery of interventions and activities to address these.
- To support clients to access other relevant activities and services in their local communities including those on offer at DRC and externally.
- To provide the above support via a range of mediums including by telephone, digital media, home visits and regular outreach sessions.
- Working with the wider IAG Team, to establish and maintain strong contacts with other partners to maintain an effective intelligence and resource bank to support clients.
- To establish and maintain external referral procedures with relevant statutory and specialist Third Sector providers to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
- To establish and maintain internal referral and joint working with other DRC teams and services where this is appropriate to meet client need and achieve effective outcomes.
- Working with the wider IAG Team, to ensure accurate and up to date client records and statistics are maintained through DRC’s CRM system, Lamplight; including details of advice, casework, attendance, monitoring of progress against client action plan and SMART targets; supporting the provision of service reports and key performance indicators information to Senior Management, Board of Directors and funders.
- To monitor, review and evaluate the effectiveness of the IAG Service through the service user group and client feedback instigating improvements to existing service delivery and the development of new or additional services to meet changing demand.
- To liaise with the Service Manager and take appropriate action as and when necessary to ensure IAG Service targets and outcomes are met.
- To produce accurate and timely reports as required to funders including but not limited to Birmingham City Council.
- To actively participate in the marketing and publicity of DRC and its IAG Services including proactively undertaking social media activity, undertaking talks and presentations and organising displays, events and exhibitions.
- To represent DRC at external meetings and events as required.
- To supervise the work of the IAG Service team members taking appropriate action as and when necessary to ensure service targets and outcomes are met.
- To oversee the recruitment, training and supervision of Information and Advice Service volunteers.
- To be aware of and comply with DRC policies and procedures, including health and safety, safeguarding, General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and equal opportunities.
- To ensure your own and the wider IAG Team’s continuing professional development by attending relevant meetings, conferences, and seminars, undergoing training and any other appropriate means.
- To work effectively as part of the team and be flexible and responsive to changing funder needs and DRC requirements.
- To undertake any other duties as and when required commensurate with the nature and grading of the post.
