**Role Summary**

As Senior Support Worker you will assist the Operations manager with the general supervision of the Support team to ensure that people who use our services receive a complete person centered support service. Mentoring, supervising, coaching and assessing Support Worker’s practice is the primary focus of this role. You will be proactive in ensuring that quality support is available to all individuals within the service through the direct monitoring and influencing of staff performance and by acting as an excellent role model. This will be in addition to existing support worker responsibilities.

The post holder will embody Hafan Cymru’s values and model appropriate leadership behaviours at all times and in all areas of responsibility.

**Duties shall include but not be limited to the following**:

- To assist the Operations Manager with staff management by completing return to work interviews, supervisions and annual appraisals with a designated team.
- To support the Operations Manager, with other Support Staff, in managing and delivering services within young people’s project / refuge.
- Working with the Operations Manager to undertake service user referrals and assessment and, where appropriate, maintain the referrals and waiting list for the project in close liaison with other members of the team.
- To assist the Operations Manager in undertaking service reviews and in dealing with complaints from service users in relation to the designated project.
- To take responsibility for the induction of all new staff for your designated area.
- To ensure that service users’ needs are assessed regularly and to work with them to develop, and adhere to, a task orientated personal support plan in line with Supporting People or other regulatory requirements and within the timescales required.
- For own caseload, to undertake safety planning within a domestic abuse refuge / safe house environment or ‘SEREF’ assessment when required.
- For own caseload, to carry out risk assessments on each applicant and agree a risk management plan. To use good practice in managing risk and lone working.
- To signpost, liaise with and facilitate service users’ access to other services.
- To foster the active participation of service users in all areas of their service provision in line with Hafan Cymru’s service user participation strategy.
- To feedback service users’ views to improvement of Hafan Cymru’s services.
- To promote self-advocacy and act as advocate and/or mediator where appropriate.
- To support service users in identifying and addressing key issues relating to their children and promote positive parenting and the welfare of children/young people.
- To support service users to manage their finances, budget and make informed choices about their personal finances.
- To support service users to maintain tenure agreements ensuring they fully understand their obligations empowering them to deal with issues relating to housing management, maintenance and repairs.
