We have an exciting opportunity to become part of our newly formed Centre for Apprenticeships and Higher Technical Education (HTE) as Apprenticeship Contracts and Finance Administrator. Higher and Degree Apprenticeships provide a significant area of development and growth for the University of Wolverhampton. This role will support the growing portfolio of activity in terms of apprenticeship provision across all faculties and ensure the quality of our provision is maintained. The Centre works with a wide range of external organisations from public to private sector organisations and across all directorates and Faculties within the University. This role will be pivotal in ensuring that the Faculties are compliant with the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) regulations and Ofsted requirements, given the stringent and continuously developing standards, and that provision always remains audit-ready.

This is an integral role within the Centre that will be responsible for supporting the Business Account Managers through the recruitment process in compliance with ESFA, Ofsted and University policies. In addition, you will be responsible for administering the vacancy service for employers as part of our Apprenticeship and Higher Technical Education programme. This role will also monitor the realisation of all funds from employers, ESFA and elsewhere for all apprentices. You will also be responsible for generating all relevant documentation such as but not limited to Employer Contract and for the accuracy of information included on it especially pertaining to finances, matching outgoing costs with income received to ensure the budgets are balanced. This role will be managing the contract registering in line with ESFA guidelines and the University of Wolverhampton’s legal team and checking relevant systems such as DAS (Digital Apprenticeship Service) and monitoring the impact on the ILR and highlight any issues or risks to the Head of Apprenticeship Operations.

You should have a degree or equivalent work experience within an apprenticeship provision, with excellent numeracy, IT (Microsoft excel) and presentation skills. Experience of working in a finance role in Higher Education or in a similar complex, regulated public sector environment like FE College, knowledge and understanding of ESFA requirements and experience of generating financial reports and key information.

We are looking for an individual with experience of working collaboratively with others, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a keen eye for detail and good planning and organisational capabilities to meet deadlines, prioritise work and escalate and identify risk.
