**Overview**:
The Council has embarked on an ambitious programme of change within its Resources Directorate to make improvements to its core HR and Finance processes and systems. Known as the Aura Programme, we are looking to ensure it delivers improvements over the next 12 months that are customer focussed, making it easy for self-service, that reduce costs by automating as much as possible and that make the best possible use of our existing systems.

We are looking for a Service Improvement Officer that is self motivated, has some experience or knowledge of finance services in a large Local Authority and is passionate about putting customers at the heart of service design.

This is a secondment/fixed-term contract opportunity until March 2024.

**About us**:
You will be working as part of a core programme team that works at pace, regularly conducting meetings online but also collaborating and holding workshops in person at our programme offices in central Aylesbury. It is essential that you are able to maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues from all parts of the orgnsation. You will be line managed in the central, corporate Service Improvement Team which will give you access to best practise templates, tools and knowledge sharing sessions with fellow Improvement Officers who conduct work across every service in the Council.

**About the role**:
As a Service Improvement Officer working on the Aura Programme you will be responsible for:

- Managing a range of projects, processes and workstreams to ensure delivery of outcomes and outputs;
- Planning and leading workshops with service areas;
- Stakeholder management across a variety of stakeholders including staff and senior management to encourage collaboration;
- Champion and facilitate user centred design.

Any-Desk:
As an ‘any-desk’ worker, you’ll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required. You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements*.

**About you**:

- You must have effective influencing, negotiating and communications skills so that you can build trusting relationships
- You must be able to collaborate and provide challenge to stakeholders at all levels so that problems can be defined clearly and openly.
- You have experience of woking in large transformation projects.
- You have knowledge of finance service in a large Local Authority.

**Other information**:
This role is office based but is currently being offered on a 40% office and 60% home working agreement. This arrangement is under continuous review and may change in line with business need.

The interview will be held in Aylesbury with an officer from the Service Improvement Team and an officer from the Aura Programme Team.
