**Company Summary**

Working for a leading supply chain management and warehousing company who operates with many food and drink household names. They manage 3,500,000 square ft of dedicated storage and handle more than half a million tonnes of goods a year.

**Main Purpose of the Role**

Be a member of the Management team, lead and grow the business proposition through new business wins and strategic relationship management. Drive business origination, identifying, developing and securing new relationships across the target jurisdictionsto increase client acquisition, business generation and profitability. Developing and implementing strategic sales plans that expand the customer base and solidifies its presence.

**Key Areas of responsibility**
- Work with the Operations Director in developing the Company’s UK client base to increase new client acquisition, business generation and profitability
- Negotiate price and close larger value contracts as well as added value products to increase lifetime value of customer in order to achieve personal, team and company sales target
- Plan, organise and implement business wins from pre-qualification to Invitation to Tender and play a leading role in securing contracts through identifying potential opportunities, developing target opportunities into prospects
- Achieve team budget, sales targets and individual KPI’s
- Attend relevant conferences, exhibitions and corporate events
- Produce quarterly account plans, regular reporting on sales activities, achievements, challenges and planned target companies
- Lead commercial bid and tender submissions where other internal teams are required to prepare requirements
- Liaise with the finance team, warehousing and other departments as appropriate
- Draw up client contracts and heads of terms
- Search and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets

**Skills, Education and Experience required**
- 5 years’ experience in a similar or related position (minimum)
- Possess a deep understanding of the industry and drive business generation
- Educated to degree level
- Experienced in developing and implementing strategies and profit-making projects
- Experience of building a client-base utilising internal and external networks being highly tolerant of change and able to work within an evolving organisation.
- Previous achievements of meeting sales targets
- Proven track record of success within a business-to-business sales environment.
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Good working knowledge of the palletised warehousing industry and relevant operational practices to create distinct advantage
- Relationship Management experience within a Customer Service environment
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within the Company and externally to establish positive outcomes and leverage the capabilities of all parties
- Professional attitude, team player with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Good organisational skills, able to prioritise using a common-sense approach to problem solving
- Demonstrate the ability to pro-actively initiate action, be decisive and think commercially
- Excellent presentation skills
- Confident in own ability and a self-starter
- Competent in Microsoft Office, numerate, and possessing good verbal and written communication skills
