Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm

We are currently recruiting for an Underwriting Team Leader to join our established team based at our Manchester City Centre office.

As an Underwriting Team Leader, you will lead the performance and development of a team of up to 8 people to deliver agreed customer, financial and operational performance targets in line with our business strategy.

You will be responsible for a team of Assistant Underwriters and Underwriters.

This role will require you to be a talented leader and coach of people in an operational environment, with experience of delivering for the customer, driving improvements and leading others through change.

**What we're looking for**
Previous experience of managing and coaching teams

Previous exposure and experience in managing performance, absence and development of teams

Experience in an Insurance environment is desirable but not essential.

**The Role**
To deliver the team’s key performance indicators, identifying and addressing performance issues

To create a culture of performance and pace within your team, focused on improving the customer experience and delivering financial results

To recruit, coach, develop and motivate the team to drive performance now and in the future

Support recruitment campaigns either through interview or be part of the coordination

Absence and Performance Management, linking in with HR services and following set criteria

To resolve broker complaints as an escalation point for the team

To consolidate broker insight from the team, to develop better ways of working / to feed into the relationship management team.
