An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to help develop this post with a flexible approach to duties.

Full and part time hours are available
- To provide comprehensive, administrative, IT and clerical support for all staff within the Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, Wheelchair Service.
- To work flexibly within a team, providing support to colleagues and the multidisciplinary team and provide cover for other administrative and clerical staff when required, on a shared basis.
- To present a user-friendly and accessible service for the public.
- To deal with reception & telephone enquiries effectively and efficiently.
- The post holder will be required to work independently with minimum supervision in relation to providing a complete administrative service including word processing, photocopying and composition of letters and reports and preparing straightforward responses and requests as appropriate.
- To establish and maintain a well-organised and effective administrative service able to meet the needs of the service users and the staff in the Wheelchair Service.
- To use judgment and experience to deal with general enquiries and convey information to service users or professionals, where appropriate. Make further enquiries on behalf of professionals and service users.
- To competently use computerised patient recording on clinical software system and equipment ordering systems
- Open and process mail in accordance with Trust guidelines. Receive, sort and date stamp post and other communications, disseminating to appropriate individuals, ensuring that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- To confidently deal with telephone enquiries to the wheelchair service.
- To confidently deal with face-to-face contact with patients visiting the wheelchair service including management of the reception area
- Maintains stationery and other office supplies
- To provide an effective and efficient purchasing service for wheelchair service to include procurement, purchasing, chasing suppliers and receipting of goods in accordance with the Trusts supplies procedures.
- Administration of personal wheelchair budgets
- Booking patient appointments and communicating appointments with patients
- Comply with Trust requirements to submit information supporting clinical activity for the Wheelchair Service and ensure compliance with CQC requirements
