A vacancy has arisen in our Business Intelligence and Performance Team to head the business intelligence and performance function.

This is an exciting time to be joining the Business Intelligence and Performance Team. You will be joining a newly created team and will have the opportunity to shape our reporting, driving improvements across the Trust.

You will lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team of management information specialists.

1. Provision of Management Information

2. Business Systems Management and Report Development

3. Performance Management

4. Data Quality and Assurance

5. Business Intelligence Strategy

6. Staff Management and Development

Responsible for the Performance Systems/Data Warehouse function, Business Intelligence and reporting development function that operates across the whole Trust. The post-holder will ensure that the team provides a high quality and responsive service in support of the Trust’s clinical, operational and strategic objectives by meeting its rapidly growing and changing information needs. This includes the management and development of complex information and business intelligence systems providing critical information, both internally for use in the Trust’s performance management framework and planning processes, and external statutory reporting to NHSI/NHS England and the Trust’s Commissioners.

Responsible for the structure of the team and the development of staff, ensuring adequate plans are in place for succession planning thus ensuring the Trust benefits from a resilient and robust service.

Post-holder will provide input into non-BI system developments, promote management information and data quality agendas through appropriate Trust forums and communication channels, and ensure that training also supports those agendas.

Responsible for ensuring that the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of all national and mandatory reporting requirements are met.

Responsible for an information architecture design that delivers a responsive, robust and resilient service.

Responsible for developing Management Information strategically; to ensure business intelligence services are resilient, future-proof, sustainable, viable and cost-effective. To adopt a “lessons learned” approach to all aspects of analytical provision with a view to proactive management, innovation and increasing productivity and efficiency across the Trust.

Will represent the Trust in business intelligence discussions through working groups and forums at ICB level.

The post-holder must have a strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skill set and be able to communicate highly complex issues to a wide-range of audiences, clinical and operational. Being able to draw conclusions from analysis undertaken and guide people to make sound decisions based on the results.
