Conversion Shift Supervisor

**Scope of the Role**:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Conversion Shift Supervisor to join our team in South Wales. The Conversion Shift Supervisor will assist the Manufacturing Manager (on shift) by driving the overall performance v shift target of the shift, with a particular focus on Machine outputs. A key area will be the ‘Shrink-Free’ machine fleet to drive outputs and fast label changeovers. You will be responsible for the productivity and efficiency of your team in delivering production requirements, in a safe, well maintained working environment and ensure the quality of all new and existing products produced.

**Shifts**

Working 37.5 hours per week - days and Nights (12 hour shifts) - No weekends and a 4.30pm finish on a Friday

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Promote a proactive approach to Health, Safety and Environmental issues, ensuring the teams maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times, escalating appropriately.
- Ensure that Quality standards are achieved and maintained, escalating issues where necessary.
- Drive overall Shift performance with a particular focus on Conversion machine performance against agreed targets (H&S, Quality, Product Specification, Machine C/O, Machine Setting, House-Keeping, etc.) to ensure a best in class approach to manufacturing.
- Monitor machine speeds v target with a particular focus on Shrink Free and address issues at pace, co-ordinating necessary resource to support.
- Monitor actual performance v expected shift outputs and take appropriate action where necessary.
- Be the key ‘Go To’ person for the team, liaising with all department team leaders to ensure smooth running of the shift.
- Take a proactive approach to minimise unnecessary wastage both in time and materials.
- Mentor, co-ordinate and support the shift team to achieve targets and problem solve. Encourage team performance through open and effective communication.
- Ensure fast, efficient shift change overs, including thorough briefing of incoming shift supervisor.
- Support the Manufacturing Manager in ensuring shift assignments are allocated efficiently.
- Generate reports for the Engineering Manager & MFT Leader, highlighting areas for focus and improvement.
- Promote a positive culture of team-working, communication, quality and right for time approach across the shift.
- Be capable of working unsupervised and able to make decisions demonstrating strong leadership qualities.
- Promote a positive culture of ‘pride’ and ‘ownership’ in our facilities, technology, equipment and product.
- Be flexible and adaptable to support the production demands in all manufacturing areas.
- Be willing to engage in necessary training to support development.
