**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Job Title**: Material Handler (rotating shifts)
**Overall Purpose**
To ensure raw materials are stored, recorded, controlled, and prepared in the correct condition ready for issue to production in a timely manner as per the production Plan. To ensure that Finished Goods and WIP are scanned onto the system and accurately located.
**Principal Accountabilities**
Management, handling and control of all Raw Materials entering or leaving the goods-in warehouse. Accurate scanning and location of materials into and out of stock locations in the feed store.
- Carryout weekly / when required, stock checks of Feed Stores and Material Stores.
- Picking of Works Orders in a timely manner, issued by Shift Manager
- Referring to the Material Handlers Issue Sheet - issue and transport raw material from the feed store location to the driers, recording all movements as they happen with the bar code scanners. Material must be prepared in advance with reference to the correct drying conditions and available for the factory in a timely manner to ensure Production meet their targets set in the Daily Production Plan.
- Emptying and clean down of machine hoppers and return of left over materials in part bags to the material stores. Weighing and recording of part bags and scanning and return to store in a controlled manner.
- Issuing Master batch to shop floor.
- To regularly scan all product correctly and transfer into finished goods warehouse.
- Regular removal and segregation of scrap parts and sprues and runners to the Recycling area during the shift to prevent any build up on the shop floor.
- Assist in Line Clearance and sign confirmation paperwork as required.
- Hold a Hand Over meeting at the end of shift to the next shift’s Material Handler.
- Attend the morning meeting
- Work with other shift Material Handlers in the performance of all tasks, working as a team to meet shift targets
- Break cover as required, i.e. covering of machines.
- Participate in and actively promote the company’s CIP by being proactive in suggesting improvements in productivity and efficiency, and looking for ways to continually improve the way we work and to reduce waste.
- Good Housekeeping (5S) - To ensure mould machines, feed stores and factory are clean and tidy. Ensure materials are handled, transferred and stored in a clean, safe and tidy fashion.
- Reporting of any faults within the feed system, hopper loaders etc.
- To be fully conversant and cover of the Line Feeder role
- Any other reasonable request from a senior member of staff.
**Reporting to Shift Manager**
Pay: £24,000.00-£25,671.10 per year
