Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is looking for a RCMA Technical Author/Analyst to support the Chinook Programme ideally based in Gosport, United Kingdom.

Boeing Defence UK operates an engineering matrix Organisation consisting of engineering departments that deliver technical skills, expertise and products into our programmes. One of the Departments is the Product Support Engineering (ILS Engineering) which provides the product supportability infrastructure comprising the following technical areas:

- Reliability Centred Maintenance Analysis,
- Reliability and Maintainability,
- Logistic Support Analysis,
- Engineering Data Exploitation,
- Obsolescence Management,
- Technical Publications and
- Integrated Logistic Support Engineering.

We are looking for an experienced Aircraft Publications Technical Author with associated RCM Analyst experience. You will be supporting the outputs of the Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) Team supporting the BDUK portfolio.

This position will support the Team’s Technical Authoring requirements and RCM Analysis, culminating in optimised preventive maintenance task recommendations and onward production of the Topic 5 Suite of Air Publications. This position will ensure maintenance schedules are amended and maintained in accordance with the standards, policies and directives applicable at the time of issue. Analysis and associated amendment actions will be based on customer Technical Change Requests, In House Review Processes, Modification Requirements, RCM Analysis outputs and RCM Scoping Studies in support of the RCM Continuous Improvement Programme.

You will support RCM activities related to Engineering Change Proposals, New Build and Retrofit Programmes, liaising with Engineering Departments in international locations and UK. You may be required to consult with customer and company representatives during the initial proposal concept phases, ensuring an accurate and reasonable bid package is developed.

You will participate in TLCS Engineering and Supportability and ILS meetings and actively engage with other TLCS organisations and stakeholders to seek innovative solutions, improve programme metrics and reduce cost of ownership.

The RCMA Technical Author/Analyst will support the RCM Lead reporting to the BDUK ILS Manager on various Chinook Programmes.

Although ideally based in Gosport, some travel will be required in support of program requirements.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support RCM for generation of processes and re-assessment of plans.
- Support the generation, review and assessment of RCM supporting documentation.
- Carry out RCM Analysis and Authoring as required on platform, systems and equipment Maintenance Schedules to optimise the Preventive Maintenance burden.
- Assist in the preparation of material for briefings, meetings and formal working groups (internal and external).
- Carry out any investigation, as detailed, in accordance with current engineering policy, regulations and orders.
- Liaison with Systems functions (Engineering, Safety, Supply Chain Management and Training) to ensure ILS remains informed and aligned with wider BDUK developments and progress.
- Liaison with the Customer on specific areas of Technical Services.
- Assist in coordinating ILS deliverables (CDRLs) ensuring timely inputs are received, reviewed and the final output is ready for approval and acceptance process.
- Highlight any issues or opportunities within RCM at the earliest possible point and where required support mitigation and development plans for addressing highlighted concerns.
- Work as directed by the Reliability Centred Maintenance Lead and the BDUK ILS Manager.

**Experience in **some** of the following is desirable**:

- A proven ability to produce, modify and update Topic 5 Air Publications (DAP and AP format), user instructions and appropriate Technical Manuals to the standards as laid out in the JAP(D)100C-20A
- Thorough understanding of Support Engineering in the Military environment
- Hold a relevant Technical Author qualification and/or RCM Practitioners course OR have relevant proven and applicable practical experience
- Experience of condition-based maintenance and condition monitoring, and understand FMECA (Failure mode, effects, and criticality analysis) and FMEA techniques at item and system level
