- We are looking for four research assistants to join our international research team working on a Wellcome Trust-funded project “The clock is ticking: A longitudinal multi-site study addressing teen sleep as a means to limit depression and anxiety”. The aim of the project is to identify sleep
- and circadian-related mechanisms through which adolescents may either develop, or demonstrate resilience to, depression and anxiety. You will report to Assistant Professor Ksenija da Silva in the Centre for Healthcare and Communities, working closely with Associate Professor Laura Roden in the Centre for Health and Life Sciences, but will have the opportunity to liaise and connect with other team members in Cape Town, Makhanda, and Johannesburg, in South Africa. You would join a team with a strong focus on good research culture and EDI as well as involving people with lived experience research.- The Research Assistants will be responsible for undertaking guided research activity including, engagement and recruitment of adolescent (teen) participants, preparing, setting up, conducting and recording the outcome of experiments and field work data collection through biological sampling, interviews, focus groups and surveys, using and managing equipment and instrumentation for data collection and analysis within the project. Occasional out of hours work will be required. The post holders will co-ordinate their own work with that of others and contribute to the planning of the project data collection. The project is a multicentre study, carried out in low, medium and high socioeconomic communities based in the United Kingdom and South Africa.**Qualifications Required**- The post is fixed-term, 0.6FTE until May 2027. Night-time work is required, and possible weekends too. A driving licence and own car is desirable. Flexible working may be considered depending on project needs.
