We are currently recruiting for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to work for our client Lincolnshire Police.

This will be a temporary ongoing position and you will be working Full-Time Monday to Friday.

**PLEASE NOTE DUE TO POLICE VETTING YOU MUST HAVE BEEN RESIDING WITHIN THE UK FOR A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS CONTINUOUSLY**

Salary will be £32349 per annum.

You will need to have a degree or equivalent qualification from a technical discipline. You will need to demonstrate ability and experience of developing user requirements into successful BI visualisations (ideally using Qlik) to support organisational performanceimprovement

**BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE DEVELOPER**

**JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE**:
This Business Intelligence Developer role largely focuses on the continual development of a major Policing information system. The purpose of this role is to design, implement and maintain the technologies required to provide Qlik, a Business Intelligence(BI) service to the Force. This includes providing expertise, gathering user requirements and design, programming and rolling out solutions to end users.

The BI Developer will also work alongside the solutions team, project managers and the customer to define requirements for new developments. The role will ensure that developments meet customer requirements and expectations.

It is essential for an individual in this post to create and maintain positive communications to ensure effective working relationships with individuals,

teams and colleagues.

The aim of the Code of Ethics is to support each member of the policing profession todeliver the highest professional standards in their service to the public.

**CORE WORK AREAS**:
- To carry out programming, development and maintenance tasks ensuring that feasibility has been assessed and established, force processes and security standards have been adhered to, test scripts are prepared to Force standards and testing is complete andsuccessful.
- Maintain a detailed knowledge of current practice in own area of expertise
- To develop and maintain the data warehouse to support the Force's BI requirements using dimensional modelling principles and assist in the design of databases to ensure interoperability with Business Intelligence solutions.
- To work with the Force Performance Management Team to assist in the data visualisation and building of dashboards
- To design and develop Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) packages to carry out ETL and data conversion tasks.
- Qlik Development - To design and develop secure reporting interfaces to required data sources and create data visualisations to enhance understanding of the Force's performance
- To work with the IT Solutions Manager to support the development of strategic goals for BI in conjunction with the business and stakeholders
- Document solutions technical designs and implementation information.
- Keep abreast of technological advances and work with the Solutions Manager and other specialists to conduct research, evaluate and make recommendations about BI products and respective tools, services and standards in support of procurement and developmentefforts.

**Qualifications/ Training**
- Degree or equivalent qualification from a technology discipline

Experience
- Demonstrate ability and experience of developing user requirements into successful BI visualisations (ideally using Qlik) to support organisational performance improvement
- Experience of Data Warehouse Design
- Experience of using and configuration Team Foundation Server (TFS).
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrable experience in providing technical and user support at an enhanced level
- Understanding of data modelling techniques for relational and dimensional databases (e.g. dimensional modelling theory)
- Knowledge or experience of ORACLE or Microsoft SQL Server databases including the creation of database objects and stored procedures
- Business analysis knowledge
- Working knowledge of ITIL
- Working knowledge of XML, ASP.NET, HTML, Javascript, CSS and SQL Server
