**Job Purpose/Summary**: To engage, motivate, manage and control
the day-to-day running of the shifts within the Production department and
ensure that all team members work together to achieve departmental Key
Performance Indicators

**Responsibilities/Key accountabilities**:
Management and Development of team
Lead, motivate and encourage the team on a daily basis
Allocate personnel to tasks, machine and jobs to achieve the best possible results.
Participate in interviews for new starts/internal promotions
Carry outreturn to work interviews, investigation and disciplinary meetings
Conduct one-to-ones with team members to raise concerns related to absence, performance, time-keeping etc
Conduct three and six monthly probationary review for new starts, liaising with Production Manager and HR when necessary.
Ensure that briefs such as Team briefs, H & S briefs, HR briefs are carried out/communicated to all team members
Ensure that teams are adequately briefed on any changes/new developments within the department
Manage temporary worker requirements for the department

Technical Expertise
Plan workload for every 24 hour period linking this into the production plan
Measuring and controlling output, make ready, lost time and waste ensuring that all efforts are made to reach these targets along with the necessary paperwork which is completed in a clear, concise and legible manner
Ensure maintenance of equipment through planned maintenance
Ensure that all machines and equipment are maintained to proper standard.
Investigate and report findings on scrap and put preventive measures in place
Identify areas for continuous improvement and offer possible solutions
Conduct departmental audits

Managing Relationships
Liaise with planning department to gain an understanding of production plans
Liaise with purchasing department to ensure all materials are available as required
Liaise with agency on the supply of temporary workers
Liaise with Engineering department on all maintenance issues, planned and unplanned
Liaise with Online Teams Leaders (operations) on a daily basis.
Conduct appraisals for team members
Liaise with supply chain on any raw materials quality issues

Driving Results
Monitor production plan to ensure that machines are running and changes to runs/machines needed are made where necessary
Review operator and machine performance at half time and on a daily basis to identify what targets need to be set for the other half of the shift.
Work towards reducing customer complaints/notifications through continuous improvement initiatives
Manage and monitor the roster and allocate holidays within the department to ensure that there is adequate labour to man and run machines ensuring that targets are achieved

Service Excellence
Make decision on a daily basis to ensure that the team hits its production targets ensuring that the site is able to deliver on its overall targets.
Act as link between the Management Team and Shop Floor Team
Liaising with online Team Leaders and management team on production plans
Adhere to company absence and timekeeping policies

Health and Safety
Adhere to Company Safety, Hygiene, Environmental & Quality policies and procedures
Act as Health and Safety champion within the department and ensure that H & S KPIs are achieved
Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained and improved in line with the factory standard
