When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.

**THE ROLE**

Robust and comprehensive programme and project management of key strategic focus areas including:
Delivering cross-cutting, significant and complex programmes or projects that underpin Young Lives vs Cancer's strategy
Using your position in a supporting directorate to build strong relationships between key stakeholders across the business and working with these stakeholders to ensure that programmes and projects are properly defined and tested in relation to the benefits we aim to achieve from these
Assessing, evaluating, communicating and planning for the organisational readiness for and the impact of programmes and projects in planning
Driving best practice project management in team and across the organisation - supporting development and improvement of corporate frameworks and controls - and ensuring quality delivery project management including delivering and sharing key lessons learnt and evaluations
Using an in-depth understanding of upcoming business requirements, working with the Head of Projects & Planning to plan and manage project management resource
Development of a high performing team
Understanding and reporting against 'added value' measures, demonstrating the benefits achieved by the team and the projects the team delivers
Young Lives vs Cancer is open to and in support of flexible working. We are currently defining our approach to hybrid working. Your flexibility requirements and that of the role will be discussed at interview stage with you.

Hours: 35 hours per week. We can also make the role available part-time, on 32 hours per week, which can be worked over 4 or 5 days. Talk to us about what works for you and we will see what we can do.
Location: The role will be part of a team that works across the UK. You can be home-based anywhere in the UK with easy access to Bristol or London for occasional meetings. You can also choose to work full-time or hybrid from our Bristol Office

**ABOUT YOU**

**Experience**

Development and delivery of complex programmes and projects through their full cycle 
Negotiating with and influencing stakeholders including senior leaders and managers 
Practical evidence of developing and maintaining good working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, developing a positive personal and organisational profile and building trust 
Experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously that require high speed, high volume of work and with minimal supervision. 
Project management experience in the context of introducing business change 
Experience of managing, monitoring, evaluating and improving process performance 
Experience of making decisions in ambiguous situations and in the context of changing priorities 
**Skills/Abilities **

Personal gravitas and ability to influence 
Ability to understand complex situations or problems and to work with stakeholders to define best possible solution 
Ability to interpret top-line briefs and turn these into practical action 
Ability to plan and manage team resource 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation and presenting 
Strong consultative and listening skills.

Strong leadership skills, especially experience of leading without managing 
Team player - flexible, resourceful, diligent and tenacious
