Supply Chain Lead

Our busy manufacturing client based in New Milton has an immediate requirement for an experienced Supply Chain Lead to join their team. The main purpose of the role will be to manage the purchasing and flow of materials required by customers against agreedforecasts. This will involve maintaining appropriate stock levels, within budget, and to the correct quality.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 2-3 years of recent Supply Chain experience within a dynamic FMCG setting.
Your duties will include the following:
- Working with customers and suppliers to identify opportunities for cost savings in our extended supply chain, supporting the implementation of those improvements and sharing the benefits.
- Working alongside the Supply Chain Team Manager to deliver a range of improvement processes.
- Helping to achieve team goals such as minimising price inflation and stock outs.
- Collaborating with the Product Development Team and internal sales teams to develop a forecast which is used to schedule material requirements for new and existing sales lines.
- Utilising historic data to help better forecast future seasonality and special event activity, that can help forecasting requirements.
- Working with suppliers on product development, samples, NPI and on-going procurement requirements, taking into account lead-times, capacity constraints, MOQ and EOQ and freight options to make optimal purchasing decision.
- Use SAP B1 to manage material data and purchasing activities, automating for efficiency gains wherever possible.
- Provide verbal and written feedback to all internal and external stakeholders on changes in forecast or supply that will impact the other. Minimise disruption caused by stock outs, waste, obsolete stock or delayed deliveries.
- Assessing Total Cost of Ownership for different supply options and working with Sales, Development, Production and Finance to evaluate options.
- Maintaining Departmental KPIs.
- Work as part of NPI Team to ensure products meet target launch date.
- Excellent communication skills
- Good analytical / numeracy skills
- SAP B1 knowledge essential
- Demand planning / forecasting
This is a full-time permanent position with an immediate start available. The working pattern will be 07.30am to 16.30pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). The salary will be between £26,000 - £29,000 per annum dependent on experience.
