Our client is a provider of Therapeutic Residential Childcare in an all-girls care home, and they have some exciting opportunities to be part of a team that makes a real difference in the lives of traumatised children and young people.

Based in the Huntingdon area for young people 8 - 18 years of age in who have experienced childhood trauma and who may be vulnerable to CSE along with other complex needs. Our client provides therapeutic leadership and training those centres around Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy P.A.C.E. underpinned by Dyadic Development Practice and approach.

Our client firmly believes that by training, leading & supporting the staff team effectively, the best opportunity can be given for the restoration of the traumatised lives of the children and young people who are resident with them.

**Duties to include but not limited to**:

- To have a passion and active interest in being involved in restoring traumatised lives of children and young people
- To remain calm and positive when under pressure and in the face of conflict and challenge
- To be a positive and encouraging member of a staff team that works together to meet the needs of children and young people
- To actively learn and take a personal interest in the training provided to you ensuring that you take responsibility for staying up to date
- To be prepared to muck in with food shopping, cooking, cleaning and more
- To positively engage in supervision, team meetings and reflective practice in and outside the shift pattern to stay resilient, refreshed, and competent in your role
- To work flexibly with the shift pattern to ensure the needs of the children and young people are met
- To take safeguarding children and young people seriously, identify concerns and report them effectively
- To take a lead in bringing your interests, hobbies, and passions in life to the culture of our service.

**Qualifications and experience**:

- QCF/NVQ 3 in care (preferably children and young people) or equivalent
- If you do not have this qualification our client will happily pay to put you through it.
- A genuine interest in working with young people and willing to make a commitment to the role.
- Able to engage appropriately with young people and develop rapport.
- Able to engage in a variety of activities (including physical activities) to develop and sustain appropriate relationship with young people.
- Ability to manage personal and professional boundaries maintaining appropriate relationships with staff and young people.
- Able to use the computer and Microsoft packages to produce correspondence, reports and undertake eLearning.
- Able to form and sustain positive and professional working relationships.
- Able to take direction and work effectively and cooperate as a member of the team.
- Able to organise and prioritise own work.
- Ability to cope with the pressure of a residential care setting.
- Able to handle own emotions and feelings, and support young people to trust adults.
- Hold a current full manual driving licence.
- Committed to anti-discriminatory practice and anti-oppressive approach and able to translate this attitude into practice.
- Commitment to personally undertake further training and development.
- Able to meet the requirement of the Shift pattern. This includes day and waking nights as part of the routine pattern.

**Benefits**:

**Shifts**:
Working days are:
Week 1 - Monday, Thursday, Saturday

Week 2 - Tuesday, Friday, Sunday

Week 3 - Wednesday

Working hours each day are 15hrs, from 0700-2200. The sleeps are 2230-0730.

Week 1 - 45 hours

Week 2 - 45 hours

Week 3 - 15 hours

35 Hours is contractual and 10 hours in Week 1 and Week 2 and sleep is a set rate, of £50, minimum 5 sleeps a month.
