**Behaviour Mentor - Specialist School - Coulsdon**

**£16,000 to £26,000 per annum - Permanent**

Do you have experience working with SEMH and challenging behaviour? A minimum of 2 years working in a secondary school? Are you a behaviour specialist?

**The role**:
We are looking for a behaviour specialist to join this excellent secondary school and support children with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs.

The role will be working with some of the most vulnerable and challenging students in the school. You will work alongside the pastoral team and inclusion team dealing with intervention groups. You will also be working alongside class teachers to ensure studentsare in class and getting the most from their education.

**Therapy**:
Therapy for pupils is provided through trained specialists to resolve problematic behaviours, beliefs, feelings (including emotional disturbance), relationship issues, and/or somatic responses (sensations in the body). The therapy provided targets specificissues that impact on education and the ability to function in society or as an individual.

**Learning through Sport and Fitness, Exploration and Challenges**:
The school has a range of local partnership providers who enable them to offer a high quality sports, exercise and fitness curriculum offer that includes weekly visits to Leisure Centres, Adventure Centres, Clubs (Football, Boxing, Martial Arts, Golf, Tennis,Cycling to name just a few), and Outdoor Expeditions.

The school arranges Team Days away, Field Trips, Experiments and also facilitates membership of clubs (Army cadets, Fire and rescue, Police cadets, animal rescue), involvement in Moto Cross, Go Karting, Kayaking, Paint balling, Orienteering and assault courses.

**Staff - Career Development**:
CPD will be delivered on a regular basis to ensure that the team understands the therapeutic work that is being implemented. Staff will receive group supervision lead by one of the onsite therapists. This can also be extended to individual sessions wherethere is a need and some staff voluntary ask for support. Staff wellbeing is key since this feeds directly back into the healthy running of the school.

**HOURS**:
08h30 to 16h00 (Thursdays until 17h00)
