**Job Overview**:
As a lead buyer in the Procurement Team, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to ensure the organization's healthcare facilities have access to safe, effective, and cost-efficient products. You will collaborate with vendors, internal stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to maintain a steady supply chain while adhering to compliance and quality standards. You will work closely with our head office procurement team of 5.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Vendor Management**:

- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to negotiate favorable terms, prices, and delivery schedules.

**Product Selection and Evaluation**:

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand the organization's clinical needs.
- Evaluate pharmaceutical products and medical supplies for efficacy, safety, and cost effectiveness.

**Regulatory Compliance**:

- Stay abreast of regulatory requirements related to pharmaceutical procurement.
- Ensure all purchased products comply with relevant laws, regulations, and quality standards.

**Supply Chain Management**:

- Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Implement strategies to optimize the supply chain and reduce costs while maintaining quality.

**Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders and supplier agreements.
- Generate reports on procurement metrics, such as cost savings, lead times, and supplier performance.

**Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work with the procurement team and closely with pharmacy staff, pharmacy branches, wholesalers and healthcare suppliers, and other departments to understand their needs and preferences.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and vendors to address issues and ensure smooth operations.

**About you**:
**Previous experience in pharmaceutical procurement is essential.**

**Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, regulatory requirements, industry trends and strong formed relationships is desirable.**

**Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.**

**Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to optimize procurement processes.**

**Salary - £60,000 - £65,000 - Negotiable dependent on experience**

**45 hrs - 9am - 6pm Monday to Friday (Paid lunch)**
