**Secondment/Fixed term for 1 year due to funding**An exciting service improvement opportunity has arisen for a dietitian to review services, develop and implement best practice pathways to increase accessibility to specialised dietetics and early intervention for head and neck cancer patients in NHS Forth Valley.

This post is part of the NHS Forth Valley Dietetic Department, offering professional and operational support and will also benefit from support from the Quality Improvement Team.

**The Forth Valley Head and Neck service is a multidisciplinary team of ENT and Oral/Maxillofacial Surgeons, Speech & language Therapists, and Specialist Nurses providing a high level of care for patients with head and neck cancer diagnosis’s. This service links closely with other Health Boards and tertiary centres as treatments are frequently provided elsewhere.**:
**This post offers the opportunity to develop service improvement skills whilst working clinically within an established MDT. It requires the post holder to have excellent wide ranging clinical dietetic experience, team working skills and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated interest or experience in service improvement methodology. Experience of both acute and community dietetics would be advantageous along with experience in care of head and neck cancer services.
**The post holder would provide the dietetic clinical input and would be expected to plan and deliver appropriate training and education to the wider team, patients and carers.

This post is professionally and operationally managed by the Acute Dietetic Department at FVRH. The post-holder would be required to deliver a Health Board wide service.

The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, and have relevant experience and a demonstrated interest in care of head and neck cancer patients/acute or community dietetics and multiagency working. They must be committed to personal development and be able to work as part of a proactive team. The post-holder would be expected to actively contribute to departmental activities e.g. student training, department meetings and when necessary provide some cover to other clinical areas.
