**Secondment/Fixed term opportunity for 1 year to cover substantive post holders secondment.**We are pleased to offer this fulltime fixed term band 5 post which is suitable for a newly qualified dietitian, or a dietitian wishing to gain experience within in acute adult clinical dietetics.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Dietitian to join our team of 27 Dietitians and 3 Dietetic Assistants in this busy, friendly and supportive department. This post is one of 12 band 5 dietitians who work within different clinical specialities across NHS Forth Valley.
This post offers excellent general dietetic experience working in the acute adult in-patient service. The post-holder would provide the service to specified wards, clinics and out-reach services in FVRH with potential for shadowing experience through different clinical areas and specialities. This offers the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of in-patient settings whilst being supported and supervised by band 6 and and 7 dietitians. The post-holder would work closely within the whole dietetic team, including a small team of dietetic assistants and have some responsibility for allocation and supervision of their work.
The post holder would also be expected to assist with cover for other wards / clinics as required, during periods of leave or additional clinical pressures.
There may also be the opportunity to gain experience in other specialist clinical areas such as stroke, renal, diabetes, paediatrics and critical care.
The department is commited to a quality improvement (QI) approach and the post holder will have the opportunity to experience implementing QI methodology in clinical practice. The Department has a commitment to providing practice placement education and the post holder will be expected to assist in delivering student training.
The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, be committed to personal development and be able to work as part of a proactive and supportive team of Dietitians and Dietetic Assistants.
