**Despatch Operative**

**£22K - £23K (DOE)**

Hours 7am-4pm

**About the role**:
**Main Responsibilities**:

- Reporting directly to Managing Director and to the Despatch Manager
- Working closely with production and warehouse
- Understanding key software custom-made programs
- Managing incoming/outgoing/quarantine/damaged stock
- Rearrange warehouse/stock dependent upon client throughput
- Clear knowledge of where all stock located within warehouse
- Understand external storage and have clear knowledge of stock within
- Ensure warehouse is kept clear and tidy in preparation for next shift
- Technical / mechanical oversight and general maintenance of warehouse machinery including forklifts and vehicles - fork lift license an advantage, along with clean drivers license
- Transport support / relief driver - company vehicles
- Assisting, supporting and where necessary stepping in to oversee the warehouse and operations.
- A detailed knowledge of company machines, services, clients products and the operational procedures is required.
- Stock
- Ensure relevant stock is ready for production
- Prepare new files/orders
- Ensure enough stock is available
- Account for returned/damaged stock
- Check closely incoming stock - double-checking SKU’s are correct and match stock sheet, particularly with clothing as items look identical but different SKU’s for different sizes
- IT literacy essential
- Knowledge of the mechanics of the machinery you oversee
- Good communication skills
- Open minded, willing to learn
- Flexible, able to work in a busy demanding warehouse, well organized, accommodating and patient.
