This role is to join a busy customer service team at Lancaster City Council, being the first point of contact for our residents over the phone, face to face and via our digital channels. The Customer Services Team has a presence at both Lancaster and Morecambe Town Hall for residents to visit and we provide advice and support on a whole range of council services.
Our contact centre deals with calls ranging from Environmental Services, Benefits and Elections to Housing queries and Markets.
This role is career graded. Appointment will be to Grade 6, £23,114 - £24,294. Full training will be provided, and in order to be moved up to a Grade 7, £24,294 - £28,770, the post holder must have been fully cross trained in all areas that Customer Services deal with.
This post is temporary (maternity cover) for 12 months. The hours of work for this position are 37 per week, 5 days out of 7 including the occasional evening and weekend working. The main hours of work will be Monday to Friday 9-5pm.
This post is based at Morecambe Town Hall but you will also be required to work from Lancaster Town Hall. Some home working may be considered once fully trained in post.
The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.
