Working as part of our Microbiology Division (MBD), within the Specialty Diagnostics Group, you’ll play an active part in helping us to achieve our mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. The Microbiology Division discovers microbiological solutions for the diagnosis of infectious disease and detection of bacterial contamination. We serve public health, clinical laboratories, food companies, environmental screening and pharmaceutical laboratories with a portfolio of products that include culture media, antimicrobial susceptibility testing solutions and market-leading molecular solutions for food safety testing.

The Quality Control Team Leader will have overall responsibility for the Quality control activities implemented by the Quality Control department at Dartford. The purpose of the role is to ensure that processed materials and finished products are tested and released compliantly, and in accordance with customer requirements. The job holder will deliver QC related projects and will be accountable for developing and leading the QC team to continually review and improve flow of materials through the laboratory. This is achieved by handling and leading a flexible, multi-disciplined team.

The position holder will report into the Site Quality Manager. The role has both budgetary and line management responsibilities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide leadership to achieve continuous improvement and strive for standards in safety, quality, cGMP, output and performance, within the QC team in adherence to the operating systems and manufacturing procedures.
- Empower employees to take ownership for their jobs and goals; drive engagement throughout your organisation, delegate responsibility; drive accountability and regular feedback.
- Lead the QC team members, using the PMD process, to provide an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning.
- Collaborate with partners to ensure efficient product realisation, robust problem solving and champion effective partnerships throughout the site.
- Ensuring compliance of the Quality Management Systems standards i.e. ISO 13485, FDA and the In Vitro Diagnostics Directive.
- Lead training of the QC team ensuring they acquire the skills vital to operate within their roles in a safe and effective manner.
- Be a role model leader and demonstrate behaviour's in line with the 4I values, operations and leadership competencies.
- Ensure appropriate approvals and adherence of manufacturing processes and associated documentation, to include, but not limited to; batch sign off, UD’s and the production schedule.
- Encourage engagement and motivation within the QC team; build an environment that encourages change, growth and development.
