**Your Role**:
To support us on our collective journey to success we are seeking a Syndicate Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing finance team whilst gaining exposure to a varied range of tasks across the Syndicate Accounting function. You will be able to develop your accounting and insurance knowledge within the team, covering technical and non-technical accounting, cash, expenses and investment accounting.

**What you'll do**:

- Assist with month and quarter end balance sheet reconciliations including technical reserves
- Maintain the non-technical elements of the syndicate general ledgers
- Completion of syndicate month end reconciliations including: investments; Lloyd's Central Accounting (LCA); and inter-company
- Posting daily cash movements including: payments; investment transactions; and Lloyd's signing messages
- Review and clearance of daily and monthly items on financial interfaces
- Production of quarterly consortium statements for issue to consortium members
- Production of reconciliations and analysis for stakeholders, capital providers and auditors
- Assist other team members on other Apollo syndicates at peak times when workload allows
- Assist in the continual improvement of the financial systems and processes to include automation of core reconciliations
- Establish and maintain process documentation

**What we are looking for**:

- Insurance accounting knowledge
- Highly analytical with problem solving skills
- Experience of using a general ledger
- Data manipulation and mapping skills
- Proven reconciliation ability
- Excellent work ethic and personal development goals
- Good organizational and time management skills with a deadline focus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Desire to become a qualified accountant
