The Sussex Immunisation Service (SIS) is undertaking a pilot role to provide a bespoke service to children and young people with additional needs. This role will be to work alongside the existing school delivery for these children providing those who have additional needs with the time and attention they need. It will be a fixed term contract from September 2023 until March 2024, two days a week, term time only.

Working pattern, 07.30-16.00 Core hours, some flexible working will be required for late and out of hours clinics.

Knowledge of immunisations will be an advantage as will knowledge of excel and data management systems. They must be willing to work closely with a registered nurse to assist in the development of a service to suit the needs of the children and young people and work in partnership with schools and carers to promote a positive experience of immunisation. Good communication and interpersonal skills will be key to the success of this project.

Assist with all vaccinations travelling across the community to various settings with the immunisation team.

Assist in organising the immunisation sessions and gathering required consent forms prior to the programme commencing.

Collect, collate and report routine data and information

Maintain an online diary system for the Team.

Maintain various data bases for the Team.

Processes and maintain patient data on computerised patient records.

Deal with all telephone enquiries effectively, ensuring a prompt, accurate and polite response, acting on own initiative when necessary and appropriate.

Arrange immunisation sessions on a regular basis as per the immunisation time table, including booking rooms.

Order supplies, equipment and leaflets as required for clinics, immunisation campaigns and public health campaigns, liaising with administrative staff as necessary.

Pack and unpack vaccines, maintaining the cold chain.
