Your role at a glance
Are you an experienced Scrum Master who is passionate about agile working and the huge benefits it brings. We're revolutionising our communications department and we need an energetic Scrum Master to join us on this exciting journey.

As Scrum Master for member communications, you will facilitate the agile ceremonies and ways of working within the communications team, working closely with the Product Owner and communications team to deliver effectively and efficiently communications change. Managing and escalating the removal of any impediments and providing coaching to enable the team to self-manage and deliver user stories committed to in each sprint.

This role can be based in either Hove or Cardiff (with regular travel to Hove, once a month)

What you'll be doing
Facilitating Ceremonies and Escalation of Impediments

Fulfil Scrum Master responsibilities including facilitating scrum events such as release and sprint planning, daily stand-up, show and tell, refinement and retrospective; identifying, managing, and removing team-level impediments, to prevent distractions that interfere with sprint goals; And developing clear and concise escalation points, in order to maximise the value and delivery of the Agile team.

Requirements Management

Ensure that there is clear requirements traceability throughout the lifecycle of the project,
including user story acceptance criteria for Agile projects, in order to evidence progress and ensure accountability.

Stakeholder Communication

Take appropriate ownership of communication to stakeholders - both verbally and via clear documents/reports - including dev teams, third party suppliers, second line teams,

Product Owners/ Managers and Senior Execs so all are fully aware of key risks and assumptions.

Customer Experience Focus

Adopt a 'think like a customer' focus, continually evaluating the quality of all deliverables,

including those of 3rd parties, to ensure that the end product is fit for purpose and acceptable to all stakeholders.

Agile Practices

Provide transparency and visibility by tracking and reporting team-level delivery metrics; drive the adoption of agile principles and practices across the comms programme of works; and strive for continuous improvement across engineering processes and practices, in order to ensure the delivery of good quality communications change in an effective manner.

Understanding Strategic Commercial Imperatives

Critically review and evaluate any proposed solutions identifying alignment with business strategy, making recommendations to key stakeholders to establish priorities and ensure planned deliveries align to strategic commercial imperatives.

Team Development

Manage, motivate and develop employees at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s policies and procedures the including Partnership Agreement, to maximise the performance of the area.

Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)

Ensure that appropriate prioritising, planning and contingency for customer issues are integrated into solution designs so they are central to delivery and aligned to L&G’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly Policy.

What we're looking for
Solid experience of working as a Scrum Master with Scrum Master qualifications or equivalent experience desirable, including: Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), or

Lean Six Sigma - Green Belt, or
SAFe Agilist (SA).

ICM or equivalent beneficial
Marketing or Comms qualifications, such as CIM, beneficial

Customer Experience

Understanding the customer and the challenges they face (using tools such as Customer Journey Maps) enabling an 'outside in' approach to create solutions that customers need, want, and cherish.

Technology

Thorough understanding of JIRA or equivalent tools to manage backlogs, sprints and Kanban’s appropriately.

Data Analysis

The ability to collect, collate and interpret data from a wide range of sources, including analytics, industry, line of business systems, etc., and to use that data to take an evidence-based approach to decision making and proposition development

Products & Regulation

Knowledge of pensions and other savings wrappers as well as relevant finance
regulations applying

Experience as an agile evangelist, promoting the value of agile delivery
Technical experience in agile project management tooling and technologies
IT project experience (either Developer, BA, PM). Or experience of Operational Change, Data & Process modelling, mapping, continuous improvement and re-engineering

Proven ability to lead business analysis activity in either agile or waterfall

methodologies
