**The Role**

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our fast-paced fabric finishing team, as a trainee for our inspection and mechanical areas. If you enjoy a physical job, working independently and have a keen eye for detail; this job could be right for you.

**Day to day responsibilities will include**:
**Mechanical finishing**:

- Finishing of blankets and industrial fabrics, using a raising machine.
- Running of fabric finishing machinery, used to finish, brush and turn products.
- Working with the department to produce fabrics to scheduled delivery times.
- Inspection of fabrics to record specifications and work times onto the computer and paper records.

**Inspection**:

- Quality control and visual inspection of fabrics over an inspection perch, to perform checks for weight, appearance and colour against product specifications.
- Identification of faults or other issues.
- Recording of all inspection results by using both our in-house system and excel package.
- Working with Production and Technical teams to problem solve and achieve scheduled deadlines.

**Necessary skills needed for the role**:

- Attention to detail when handling and processing fabrics
- Ability to clearly follow written and verbal instructions
- Accuracy of recording inspection results
- Computer literate
- A flexible and enthusiastic approach to work
- The ability to prioritise and organise your own workload

**Desirable**:

- Previous experience working in a têxtile manufacturing environment
- Experience of using machinery.
- Inspection of fabrics and recording of data.
