Are you looking for a role that offers career development and excellent training opportunities. Then this role is for you We are currently recruiting a Travelling Cook to join our team In Hull area School kitchens.

As a school cook your role will be to prepare and cook home cooked nutritious food within a budget following all food legislation and maintaining an effective catering service operating to the highest standards of food safety.

As part of our highly regarded catering team you will be performing a variety of tasks to help prepare and cook tasty, nutritious meals from locally sourced fresh produce.

This role is essential and enhances the experience of pupil and students in our schools.

On a daily basis you will be carrying out food preparation, cooking, serving meals to students and staff, managing/ monitoring your team, food ordering, managing stock, maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment, recording and documentation of all relevant information following our food safety management system.

You will be a valued member of our friendly team who is reliable, dependable, and committed working flexibly between our operational hours of 7.30am to 14.00pm approx. totalling to 20 hours per week over 5 days. These hours offer some flexibility - allowing you to work collaboratively and in agreement with your manager so you can attend appointments and meet other commitments.

You will work term time weeks only however you will receive equal monthly payments throughout the year.

You will be paid £12.38 per hour in addition to annual holiday and Bank Holiday entitlement.

You will be part of the excellent Local Government Pension Scheme. You will also receive mileage allowance of 45p per mile for this role for travelling. What can we offer you? You could find working for North Yorkshire Council more rewarding than you first thought. Competitive rate of pay
