The Health Protection and Vaccines Team work to ensure that the right NHS services are in place to deliver health protection policies which are underpinned by expert public health advice. This means that we are often working as a tripartite with the UK Health Security Agency understanding what is needed to keep people safe and with NHSE England on how the NHS can best deliver this within its available resources.

We work on a wide range of projects and policies, often flexing our teams according to changing need and new priorities.

**Job description**:

- Support our HR function within the Directorate including excellent records management and recruitment campaigns.
- Work closely with policy teams to ensure systems and processes are implemented and managed effectively.
- Work closely with central teams to provide operational support for a range of corporate functions including governance, risk management, internal communications and may also include providing Executive Assistant support to a Director.

**Person specification**:

- Support SLT with diary management and co-ordinating cross Directorate activity.
- Building and maintaining good relationships with stakeholders in the Department and across government
- Communicating information clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally, to a range of colleagues
- Preparing assurance and governance reports
- Day-to-day management of Directorate administration activity including maintaining databases
- Lead on data management ensuring all out documentation is stored effectively and securely, sharing good practice within the Directorate
- Act as a central point contact for colleagues and stakeholders
- Working with your team to develop a broader understanding of policy area needs across the Directorate

**Key Skills and Experience**
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills to provide quality documentation.
- A strong communicator with confidence to chair and contribute in meetings, adapting communication style to ensure accessibility and engagement with a diverse range stakeholders.
- Adaptable and proactive with the ability to provide ad hoc support to teams at short notice.
- Able to identify your own learning needs and those of your team. Commitment to learning and continual self-development and take time to mentor and develop others to respond to the changing nature of the work of the team and to build team resilience and job satisfaction.
