ABOUT THE ROLE Were looking for a Night Support Worker to join the team in Redbridge, you will support within the Offender Personality Disorder Housing Accommodation to support in successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our residents and participants back into the community. Providing pathways, support and appropriate interventions that will enable successful resettlements and work with internal and external partners and agencies to achieve desired outcomes. Rota: This will include mixed shifts including weekend working ABOUT THE SERVICE The Offender Personality Disorder Housing Accommodation Support Service (OPD HASS) pathway is jointly commissioned by HMPPS, NHS England, and NHS Improvement. OPD HASS delivers services for people in the criminal justice system who are deemed high risk, and likely to meet criteria for personality disorder.

The OPD HASS provision is managed by Penrose. The service offers specialist accommodation to high risk/high need men who require intensive support to overcome barriers to resettlement and progress towards independent living in the community. You will be compassionate, supportive, and empowering to others, whilst able to form effective, positive and motivational relationships. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Act as a Support Worker for a caseload of Residents and Participants (R&), contributing to the development of support plans, risk assessments, and reviews.

Provide advice, guidance, information, and life skills training to R&Ps. Carry out welfare checks, ensuring the night service runs smoothly. Ensure R&Ps understand their rights and responsibilities and have access to the right tools and resources to support them back into the community. For example, supporting with welfare benefit claims and signposting them to the correct provisions.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external persons and agencies. Support R&Ps to take correct medication. Assist with health and safety and other site related maintenance and management. Admin duties will vary.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. KEY CRITERIA What we are looking for: Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours or a good understanding of the sector IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs Able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others What we would like, but not essential: Appropriate professional qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Community Justice or professional equivalent Experience of providing housing support and practical assistance within a residential or outreach support role Experience creating co-produced support plans and providing appropriate interventions for service user and liaising with other professionals Further details of the responsibilities and key criteria can be found in the JDPS attached.
