**Children and Families Worker**

Job Title: Children & Families Worker

Start Date: Early 2024

Location: Inverness Cathedral/Kenneth Street Office & Hall

Responsible to: The Provost

Responsible for: Children & Families work and volunteers

Working alongside: Provost, inSpire Coordinator, Bishop Eden Primary School head teacher, staff and pupils

Hours: Part time 16 hours. This role will require working flexible hours/days across the week and may include some weekend working.

Annual Leave: Meeting Statutory requirements.

**Salary**: £10,616.32 for 16 hours (full time equivalent £23,230)

Full PVG required.

**Skills**:

- Experience working with children of all ages
- Ability to work in a team
- Confidence to work independently
- Effective communication
- Creativity, to plan and execute established and new activities/events
- Beginner/Intermediate graphic design skills (knowledge of Canva)
- Administrative experience
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of social media (especially Facebook)

**Duties**:

- Manage and host the established Inverness Cathedral Playgroup on Tuesday mornings, including over school holiday periods and in-service days, plus development of other days as required.
- Plan and host celebratory sessions of Inverness Cathedral Playgroup inside Inverness Cathedral (e.g. Christmas and Easter sessions).
- Plan and host after-school clubs for primary school children.
- Plan and execute Family Fun Days inside Inverness Cathedral during the October school holidays.
- Work closely with inSpires on various outreach schemes.
- Maintain the Little Explorers’ Baby Bags alongside inSpires.
- Continue to establish connections with Bishop Eden’s Primary School to strengthen the link between the cathedral and the school.
- Coordinate and supervise volunteers for Children & Family Events.
- Responsible for setting up all Children & Family Events (e.g. playgroup, after-school club, Family Fun Days, etc.).
- Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of Kenneth Street Community Hall following any Children & Family Events hosted by Inverness Cathedral (e.g. playgroup, after-school clubs, etc.).
- Manage all administrative duties for Children & Family Events, including the creation of registration pages.
- Design graphics to promote Children & Family Events.
- Maintain the Inverness Cathedral Family Events & Updates Facebook Page.
- Production of yearly Children and Families Worker report.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: From £10,616.32 per year
