Carpenter / All-rounder

KSM Construction & Preservation are a family run Walsall business, providing a reactive maintenance service to retail outlets throughout the East and West Midlands. We are currently seeking a Carpenter / all-round reactive maintenance engineer to join our team.

We are looking for an experienced Carpenter / all-rounder, which can work both alone and as part of a team. Reporting daily to the Contracts manager and assisted by the company helpdesk staff, you will have all the skills and technical knowledge necessary to be able to carry out both reactive carpentry and general building works for our clients. A company vehicle and uniform will be provided. Your key role in this reactive role will mainly be lone working however, the ability to work as a team is essential for planned orders/works.

**The role will consist of**:

- All aspects of carpentry work
- Knowledge of building and construction
- The ability to works well with your hands.
- The ability to use, repair and maintain machines and tools.
- The ability to works well on your own and with others.
- Ability to use a mobile handheld device.
- Being able to plan a day and workload efficiently, cutting down time on site and travel
- Knowledge of other trades including basic plumbing, plastering, flooring etc as and when required (preferable but not essential)

**Qualifications / Skills**
- **GCSE English**
- **GCSE Maths**
- **GCSE Science**
- **NVQ / City & Guilds in carpentry**
- **Proven experience within a similar role / ability will be considered (with a reference)**

This is a full time, Permanent position: Monday - Friday 08:00 / 16:30
