Role Overview and Responsibilities:
**Introduction**
We require a Production Planner/ Scheduler to join our Planning team at our site in Abercynon, South Wales.
The primary job purpose of the planner is to provide support to the planning department with the implementation of improvement opportunities identified through value stream mapping.
When required assisting the master scheduler to create first draft capacity plans that meet customer expectations whilst ensuring the business key performance indicators are maintained in-line with budgets.
**Requirements of the Role**
- Participation in the development of the ERP system allowing for cross function improvement, streamlining of the planning and support function processes.
- Review the sales order book and master production scheduling outputs to ensure alignment with customer requirements, capacity plan and SIOP.
- Responding to changes in customer, supplier, and business requirements and effectively communicating the revised plan.
- Creation and management of manufacturing works orders.
- Responsible for wworks order reporting e.g. scrap and variances etc.
- Produce and circulate production capacity plans supporting company SIOP.
- Provide weekly/ monthly reports on achievement of plans, KPI's and efficiencies to support the weekly management review.
- Responding to changes in customer, supplier and business requirements and effectively communicating to revised plan.

**Requirements of the Person - CORE**
- Experience using ERP systems in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of effective management of ERP systems.
- Proficient in the generation and use of excel spreadsheets.
- An understanding of financial forecasting and SIOP processes.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Ability to analyse complex scenarios and evaluate possible options in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to implement lean improvements in a structured way to continually improve the planning performance.
**Requirements of the Person - DESIRABLE**
- Previous experience of planning in a low volume, high variety, vertically integrated manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Glovia ERP system.
- Experience working with alternative ERP system e.g SAP.
- Demonstrated ability to implement lean improvements in a structured way to continually improve the planning performance.
- Degree/ HND or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.

**Our Recruitment Process**
