**The key duties (Childcare practitioner)**

Childcare practitioners are the essential back bone of our sector. We are looking for warm and friendly individuals to join our care family. Whether you are experienced or not we want to hear from you

Your main duties as a childcare practitioner are:

- Support our children in the home to establish a quality led service
- Ensure the homes documentation is completed, accurate and kept up to date in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Ensure the children are happy and supported in the homes.
- To provide a high standard of emotional and social support for the children in the home.
- To work as a team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all children in the home can develop and learn.
- To prepare meals and ensure the home is kept to a good clean standard.
- To act as a responsible role model/parental figure for the children to look up to.

Reports to Homes registered manager/Deputy manager

This role can be full time /Part time/Casual

**Fulltime**

As a full time Childcare Practitioner, you will have a 1 on 2 off shift pattern (7am - 22:30pm) which may also include a sleep in - Paid at an additional rate of £60 (22:30pm - 07:00)

**Part time/Casual**

As a bank/casual childcare practitioner, the shifts will be worked around your availability These shifts can be Early's/Lates/Long days/Sleep In's/Waking Night.

**Salary**

The Salary is dependent on experience and the role is paid at:
£11.00 - £11.75 per hour, Sleep In's are paid at £60 per sleep.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Must be 21 or over
- Previous experience within a children’s home preferred but not essential
- Level 3/4 Diploma in children and young people (or equivalent) in residential care preferred but not essential
- UK driving licence preferred but not essential (must be able to reliably commute to the specified area)

The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
