Plymouth, United Kingdom University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust Full time

The Trust has committed in the People Plan to the moral imperative of taking care of our UHP people and creating a sense of belonging, compassion and care. The Wellbeing Advisor role forms part of the Trust’s ability to actualise its cultural plan to create a healthy organisation which enables delivery on its Operating Plan through a healthy and engaged workforce.

The Wellbeing Advisors will be compassionate individuals capable of getting alongside staff to support wellbeing and enable them to remain at work, with any required reasonable adjustments or return to work from a period of sickness in the knowledge that the return will support their wellbeing. In so doing, the Advisors will work collaboratively with Ops Managers and People Partners to actively engage individuals in a timely manner, supporting delivery of the Work Well Strategy, collecting and analysing qualitative and quantitative data to measure progress and inform future design of work so that meaning and impact are optimised.

Above all the Wellbeing Advisors will be focussed on ensuring staff are supported in a proactive way to be their best selves at work and at home. Attitude and aptitude will be a key feature of the role with a desire to truly support the wellbeing of staff.

**Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.**
- The post-holder will provide support to line managers by staying in touch with staff who are off sick, directing them to relevant support (such as MSK interventions, counselling) and co-ordinating return to alternative employment options and reasonable adjustments at the earliest stage. Thus providing highly supportive, personal attention, to staff who are off sick, releasing some burden from line managers.
- The post-holder will coordinate opportunities to understand and respond to the needs and experiences of staff within UHP.
- With the key aim of improving wellbeing, retaining staff and reducing absence the post holder will collect and record experiential information, discuss ideas for improvement and create a safe space for conversation and exploration of what works well, challenges and barriers.

1. Respond to contacts in a professional and timely manner, whilst responding to and escalating concerns as appropriate.
2. Provide compassionate and efficient support to staff and managers, ensuring the accurate and timely production of work to a high standard.
3. Support the development of systems and processes to embed staff experience data within other workstreams.
4. Actively participate in team meetings and discussions with colleagues and managers to make constructive suggestions as to how services could be improved within their own work area and implementing such changes with guidance from wider Health & Wellbeing and LOD teams.
5. Undertake surveys related to impact of interventions.
7. Facilitate meetings and book rooms when needed.
8. Liaise with a range of Trust colleagues to set suitable times and days for staff engagement activities and workshops.
9. Work autonomously within own area.
10. Represent and promote the inclusion agenda both internally and externally.
11. Support the organisation to achieve its performance goals against EDI outcomes.
12. Attend relevant meetings, leading change and trialling/implementing
13. Manage time and resources to ensure effective input into delivering the Work Well Strategy and specifically supporting people to remain well and at work, and enable their return to work following sickness absence..
14. Work in a way that is people-centric as well as building and maintaining effective working relationships across the Trust and with external organisations.
15. Display excellent interpretation skills, and the ability to scrutinise employment and rostering data
16. Organise events which celebrate wellbeing and publicise our achievements.
17. To work with others to ensure that legal and statutory requirements are met including publishing relevant documentation to a high standard and ensuring we meet statutory deadlines.
18. Undertake any other appropriate duties as may be delegated from time to time.
19. Resolve day-to-day problems independently
