Medical Staffing Rota Coordinator

An opportunity for 10 month secondment. We are looking for an enthusiastic and efficient individual with an eye for detail who understands the complexities of NHS medical cover.
You will be required to co-ordinate all grades of clinical staff from consultants to junior doctors, using various electronic systems. You will ensure the provision of high-quality patient care by efficiently deploying staff, and will be instrumental in the creation, implementation and management of staffing rotas.
You will also be required to have responsibilities within the team for allocation of and management of Additional Capacity sessions when required.
You will support the delivery of rotas and staffing to an agreed level, providing accurate timetables and on-call rotas for senior and junior medical staff. You will also be be responsible for accurately recording and acting upon planned and unplanned absences, such as leave or sickness and updating Healthroster for the Directorate.
You will also be required to have responsibilities within the team for allocation of and management of Additional Capacity sessions when required. You will be required to communicate with a wide range of disciplines, and possess an aptitude for negotiation and persuasion.

- Record and monitor, electronically and manually, all medical staff leave such as annual leave, study leave, professional leave, sick leave in accordance Trust policies and procedures.
- Manage the Health Roster system ensuring all clinical activities are backfilled due to leave or on-call.
- Produce and distribute rotas for all grades of medical.
- Maintain effective communication channels across sites, linking in with key departments and health
- Provide assistance with the local induction of newly appointed medical/agency.
- Process extra duty claims for the medical staff.
- Record and report on locum expenditure to the Management Team on a regular basis.
