**THE COMPANY**:
**THE JOB**:

- Investigate product and solution failures and quality NCRs, rectify them and analyse trends.
- Plan, undertake and report on field trials as appropriate, including field measurement and analysis.
- Interpret customer needs accurately and Support Sales and Engineering teams to design and create a solution that will meet the customer requirements.
- Identify and manage technical risks for the proposed solution.
- Take part in the continuous improvement process.
- Carry out risk assessments and work to established safe systems of work.
- Ensure that the system sign off criteria are understood and agreed with the customer at the start of the project (possibly test specification).
- Work with the project manager to scope and cost any technical changes (variations).
- Identify dependencies (customer and internal) with the project manager for the design, build and test.
- Ensure designs go through the correct review processes.
- Support testing of new products in both laboratory and field trials.
- Ensure the successful installation and commissioning of systems.
- Support the field service engineers with the installation and commissioning where needed and provide technical help and support for the field service team.
- Provide technical input to each of the business functions as required

**THE PERSON**:

- 4-5 year engineering experience.
- Able to work practically and be hands on.
- Safety conscious.
- Previous railway sector experience desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and able to negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Engineering qualification - HNC or HND or equivalent.
- Able to travel both in the UK and abroad for customer meetings, installations and commissioning.
- Able to occasionally work shifts and work on track.
- Very organized and with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
