You’ll be encouragedto identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

The Technical Development Lead role forms part of the Digital Product Management (DPM) Team within the IT department and reports into the Head of Digital Products. You’ll be responsible for technically leading the team of DPM support developers in the continuousdevelopment and provide in-life support of our expanding portfolio of digital products. Working with the Head of Digital Product Management, you will help to develop and continuously improve good technical practice, guiding the team approach to translatinguser stories, architecture and standards into practical software designs and code. You’ll also ensure the team is equipped with the development tools, approaches and build/release processes required to succeed.
As the lead you will spend a proportion your time guiding the team and leading their design and development work. The remainder will be spent contributing hands-on development including some innovation and support elements.
The role requires Software Development experience working within Product Teams to deliver exceptional Digital Products which customers love. We need an individual who can confidently combine technical knowledge and expertise with the leadership skills to guideand support developer success.

In this role you’ll:

- Build relationships with our innovation teams, solutions development, IT Security, business product owners, architecture, and operations to work for the overall benefit of Product end users and resultantly, the firm.
- Ensure the support development team are following development standards, including coding standards and file/release naming conventions.
- Lead change and code review including Pull Request reviews.
- Lead the creation, maintenance and adherence to development and delivery standards including release / deployment practices, coding standards and support processes as part of alignment to our ISO27001 and ITIL standards.
- Attend the change advisory board to ensure changes are reviewed, satisfy quality assurance and are supported and recorded appropriately.
- Lead and coordinate code reviews, enabling the team to avoid dependencies or bottlenecks on individuals.

You’ll be someone with:

- Hands-on full-stack design and development experience in C#,.NET, React and Blazor.
- Experience leading backlog refinement, understanding user stories and using a standard template to break them down into development tasks.
- Experience of developing to SOLID coding principles.
- Experience of working with BDD/TDD test approaches.
- Experience of designing and implementing release and deployment processes including defining designing and managing CI/CD pipelines, establishing release strategies, and producing release docs.
