Senior Housekeeper/ Manager or the Nurse in Charge.
**Job Purpose**
To assist staff in the day to day running of the Care Home and to maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and service towards service users, relatives, visitors and other members of staff.
Must be able to work weekends and help with holiday cover. 18 hours per week.
To deliver the managers’ cleaning schedule for the home, ensuring that appropriate cleaning materials are used correctly and reporting changes or concerns to the senior member of staff or nurse in charge.
**Key Tasks**
- Report both verbally and in writing on the general condition and cleanliness of the building.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for service users and staff.
- Have knowledge of the use of equipment i.e. vacuum cleaners, carpet shampooer, washing machine and tumble drier.
- Help maintain the equipment in good clean working order by regularly emptying of bags, correct storage of hoses and cleaning materials and electric cables.
- Along with other members of the Housekeeping team sort, wash and dry laundry in accordance with the regulations displayed in the laundry room
- Assist other staff in maintaining standards on each shift.
- Assist service users in maintaining their domestic hygiene in their own rooms.
- Report accidents and incidents to the nurse in charge or senior member of staff on duty.
Care of Service users and the building
- Assist in the care of the building.
- Promote independence and dignity of service users
- Assist in enabling service users to live their chosen lifestyle.
- Talk to and listen to service users.
- Report complaints directly to the nurse in charge as soon as they are made.
Other Duties
- Undertake such in house and external training which is appropriate to your role and has been identified through a training needs appraisal.
- Maintain confidentiality of information at all times.
- Work within the policies, procedures and guidelines of the Homes’ Quality Management System.
- Any other such duties as may be required to ensure the safe and effective management of infections or other H&S related activity to ensure the continuity of care for service users.

**Salary**: £10.55 per hour
