Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic theatre practitioner with the appropriate clinical experience to work closely with our existing band 6 colleagues and team leader to support our excellent team, meeting the needs of our service users, continuously developing our Obstetric Theatre service and developing the clinical education of our new starters and our students that visit the department.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a keen interest in improving and developing their leadership skills, to enable management of staff, coordination of main theatre unit and working with members of the senior management team. You must be an effective role model demonstrating high levels of clinical competence and expertise. You should be able to demonstrate involvement in service improvement, with some evidence of change management.

You will demonstrate skills in self-management, including time management, prioritisation and organisational skills. You will need to have a flexible attitude to work, be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have the capacity to go the extra mile. You will be expected to exhibit knowledge of how we work towards our trusts vision.

Hours of work are worked flexibly over 7 days and inclusive of weekends, nights and bank holidays.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To support and deputise for the Team Leader, taking managerial, clinical and professional responsibility for a team of practitioners.

To support staff, ensuring the provision of high quality patient care in the most efficient and safe manner in accordance with Directorate and Hospital policies and procedures

- Able to effectively communication with the multi displinary team.

- Is able to effectively use a range of communication skills such as powerpoint, word excel documents, Outlook

Experience

Essential criteria
- Significant speciality experience
- Competent in complex clinical skills

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- Current level one NMC registration or HPC registration part 1
- BSc in Healthcare or working towards this.

Desirable criteria
- Junior/Supervisory management course.

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
