As the Maintenance Person you will positively promote excellent health and safety standards within and around the home, supporting the home manager to maintain a safe environment for residents in our care. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the standards of the home are maintained.
**Main duties of the role**:
- Undertake all routine maintenance tasks and minor general repair work as requested by the Home Manager or Estates Manager.
- To check the maintenance request book for tasks to be completed.
- Set priorities of maintenance tasks with the Estates Manager and review regularly.
- Keeping accurate records and providing a report to the Estates Manager and Home Manager on a weekly basis.
- On a weekly basis undertake tasks checking and documenting the fire alarm test and routine checks of the fire doors security doors, and window restrictors and emergency lighting checks.
- On a monthly basis undertake delegated responsibilities for the visual check of the firefighting apparatus e.g., extinguishers.
- Checking of water temperatures of sinks, baths on a monthly basis.
- Cleaning shower heads and waste traps.
- Change light bulbs and clean light shades or fittings as required.
- Maintain an awareness of the Health and Safety requirements.
**Other requirements**:
- Experience in general repairs/maintenance
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good problem solving skills and able to manage priorities
- Driving license/car owner is preferred
