**Job Title: Young People's Mentor Sessional**
Rate of Pay dependant on qualification
Unqualified £10.53 per hour locally qualified £12.70 per hour
Nationally qualified £16.30 per hour
Overview:
**Responsibilities**:
- Build positive relationships with young people and provide mentorship and guidance
- Provide emotional support to young people and help them develop coping strategies to manage difficult situations
- Help young people set and achieve personal and professional goals
- Provide feedback and constructive criticism to help young people improve their skills and abilities
- Help young people develop effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Work collaboratively with other mentors and professionals to support young people
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records of mentorship sessions and progress
- Attend regular training and professional development sessions to stay up-to-date with best practices in
- Follow all Base 25 policies and procedures related to safeguarding Children,
Young People and Adults.
Essential requirements:
- Proven experience working with young people in a mentoring or coaching capacity
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young people
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in helping young people succeed
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and social diversity
- A clear criminal background check and references from previous employers
Highly Desirable:
- Full Driving Licence - The role may require working in different locations and sometimes more than one location in a given day. It would be the responsibility of the worker to be able to travel around various locations both in Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas in a timely manner.
