£26,855.58 progressing to £29,840.10

Essex - Countywide role

The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 130 years. We run local services that support young people when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We’re there for young people, every step of the way.

We wish to recruit a new role to join our CARE (Child At Risk of Exploitation) project, to provide specialist support & counselling to children and young people affected by exploitation in Essex. Sexual Violence spreads through many forms of exploitation including criminal, sexual and online.

This role will be an integral position within the wider CARE team. The appointed counsellor will work closely with the teams in Essex; providing training for professionals, and develop our practice for young people.

The counsellor work with statutory partners managing victims of exploitation and to offer consultation and support, collaborating with services to change systems that prevent children being safeguarded. Support Essex Police to disrupt exploitation and bridge young people back to Essex Social care by attending multiagency panels and facilitating relational work.

To be successful for this role:

- You will be an accredited counsellor.
- You will have substantial experience in working with vulnerable young people either in a paid or unpaid capacity.
- You will have experience of carrying out individual interventions with young people.
- You will need extensive experience of working in multi-agency partnerships, alongside both statutory & voluntary agencies.
- You will have experience in using Microsoft Office Applications and other relevant data systems.

As well as a strong commitment to your development, we offer a generous holiday entitlement, a contributory stakeholder pension, childcare vouchers and flexible working.

The Children’s Society runs over 100 local services that help thousands of young people who desperately need our support, and we campaign to get laws and policies changed to make young people’s lives happier and safer.
