The Edinburgh Law School is seeking two Research Fellows in Criminology to work with Professor Susan McVie on the ESRC-funded Scottish Centre for Administrative Data Research (SCADR). The post-holders will design and deliver policy-focused research projects using linked administrative datasets. The research will cover a range of criminological topics, including development of a new set of projects on the public health implications of policing and imprisonment. Post-holders will be involved in drafting research articles for publication and policy briefings for non-academic audiences, as well as participating in policy and public engagement activities, training courses, and other events.

**Your skills and attributes for success**:

- A PhD or near completed PhD in a relevant social science discipline (a criminological focus on policing or imprisonment would be desirable).
- Significant experience of using quantitative methods and statistical modelling (use of advanced methods would be desirable, e.g. longitudinal analysis, multi-level modelling, geo-spatial analysis, GIS or other techniques for analysing with and visualising geographical data).
- Expertise in appropriate software packages (e.g. SPSS, Stata, SAS, MPlus, R, etc.) and experience of managing and analysing large datasets, keeping shared work spaces tidy and appropriately documenting workflow.
- Experience of writing to a high academic standard, evidence of writing for academic publication and the ability to clearly and effectively communicate the results of quantitative data analysis to expert and non-expert audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
